Person behind the lens

The dream started in 2010 after retiring from ATV-Motocross racing, playing around with my dad’s old Nikon film camera he had being stationed in Japan eventually switching over to a Nikon digital point & shoot camera that was surprisingly won over a radio station call in competition. After winning the camera I would convince my dad to drop me off at the local motocross tracks to shoot photo’s where the passion really kickstarted(yes that’s a pun).

After discovering a little bit of a style, my work was starting to get noticed, through Facebook forums, groups and people. My last year of high school I took a film style photography class, eventually turning the class into a digital class of my own while still working with film developing In a dark room. Building my own website, developing a name for myself and selling my work helped me pass the photography class showing the teacher this was the career i’m choosing.

Seeing the same gratification that I felt capturing a photo/video that brought someone else that same gratification that made me feel, understanding these moments I am capturing only happen right then and there within a blink of an eye. Being very aware life can happen very fast when we are least expecting it, preserving these photo’s/video’s for year’s to come and too look back on.

I don’t really have a category for my style that I can pin point. More so working on a style that will make you feel like the viewer was right there in the moment feeling those same emotions happening on that day. My style can change with different event’s that I am shooting of course, ultimately I try to be different every time to keep my clients/viewers on the tips of their toes. Whether it be a movie i’ve watched, YouTube video, or something unique I want to try. I’ve always strived to get out of my comfort zone, being little scared is where growth happens, in this career choice growth is very important in every way.

Making this my career of choice I have been very fortunate to travel the country, meet new people, working with many companies & pro’s along the way. Being a professional cinematographer though the motorsports industry has been a great ride so far can’t wait for the next venture that lies ahead!
