Round 5 & 6 Deadwood, SD

Round 5 & 6 lead the tour to Historic Deadwood. A stop on the tour everyone looks forward to, the atmosphere is second to none. The bullring bring exciting racing and a who knows what’s going to happen mindset. When leaving this weekend you could have made it out great or scratching your head saying what just happened. That’s exactly what happened, ISOC threw some curve balls to all the riders and teams. Big aired out triples(which are sweet) gnarly rhythm sections and let's not forget the right hand corners with an angled start. Let’s get into it now. Three classes on the chopping block! JR 14-15, Sport & 120 Champ classes!

No stranger to the podium Tavin Knudson takes another commanding lead on the weekend making his job easier to get out front winning each of his heats taking the checkers in both finals extending his points lead making one step closer to the championship. There was battle for second and third each day. Cody Moras is a force to be reckoned with on his Polaris back by Team LaVallee putting in work in his heats and securing the second step on the podium Friday. Saturday had a different story where Cody finished 5th overall.

Gavin Brault put on a charge rounding out the podium Friday, a good showing for the Arctic Cat brand in the youth classes! Saturday saw a different 3rd place finisher. #7 Easton Kuhn worked his way up to second from a 7th overall on Friday this kid is on a mission this season. Carter VanHorsigh was back on the podium after taking the win Saturday in Canterbury, yet still has a good position in points sitting second, 26 points between him and Tavin.

Friday’s sport class saw a lot of mix ups, the track definitely put these young phenoms to the test. Dylan Lebel looked like he would sweep the weekend after putting on a dominate final taking the overall, second and third would be taken by Zak Farmer and Joni Komulainen a first podium finish for Joni. Saturday Dylan did all he could until a charging Zak Farmer came out of nowhere pulling a gnarly holeshot leading wire to wire to the overall Saturday putting Dylan in the second spot, third place would be Parker Krumm’s a new face to the podium this season.

The only mod class left in snocross, 120 champ class always brings excitement to each venue. 4 stroke sleds with dad’s that have deep pockets and maybe a hauler too(yes we went there lol). Deegan Giguere started the race of pulling a massive holeshot putting a gap on second place till an unfortunate mechanical issue happened putting Kody Krantz in the lead running away with the lead crossing the checkers to light the candles. second place would go to Lincoln Skar followed by Henry Dillon to finish out the podium. These kids are warriors putting everything they have on the track even the track they we had in Deadwood.

Next stop is Ski-Doo country for the one and only Pro only race on the tour leaving the other classes sometime to get practice in or rest from the brutal Deadwood track. Valcourt lets see what you have to offer!
