Round 5 & 6 Valcourt, QC Canada
Our friends north across the border invited ISOC back to Valcourt for a second year in a row. Pits filled with Ice Oval mods, Snocross sleds, Quads & Dirtbikes was a different experience air filled with 440 mods, factory pipes and rev limiters with open pipes. Nothing compares to this weekend being a Pro only event with SCMX intertwined Friday & Saturday schedule of events. Time to get into the nitty gritty!!
Friday was practice with some heat races and finals for the SCMX Snocross series. Emeric Legendre a familiar face to the snocross scene riding for Blouin Racing, Thene Motorsports then to Hilmerson Motorsports his last season chasing the ISOC tour. Emeric came out swinging in the Pro Class taking the overall showing he still has the speed to compete after taking a step back from being a full time athlete. Saturday & Sundays regular scheduled program Emeric jumped into ISOC Pro-Lite class, putting a well respected 13th place Saturday, unfortunately not making the main Sunday from the LCQ. Pro-Lite is very exciting this season, lots of points being moved around two different points leaders. Reigning champ Craydon Dillon came into the weekend feeling under the weather and not holding the red plate with 1 point from second. Scheuring Speed Sport’s Anson Scheele had a target on his back holding the red plate for the first time. A massive demanding track, biggest track we have seen on the tour so far, anything could happen. “Perfect” would be the word we would use for all the riders. Saturdays final was an exciting night Dillon did just that winning one heat taking third in his second heat setting up the best case scenario for himself. Pulling the hole shot leading wire to wire lighting the candles snagging the red plate from Scheele. Rounding out Pro-Lite podium would be Skogquist Race Team Drew Freeland securing second with in toe Scheele in third. A curveball was thrown Sunday for the two top contenders #96 & #44. Hemmer Motorsports Tyler Archambault was on a mission in his heats going 2-3 making another podium appearance again after his big win Deadwood. Back to the drama for the leaders, Dillon had to qualify through the LCQ which was not the case for him, after getting DQ’d he was sidelined from the final watching as the red plate gets taken back from Scheele, back to that word we used earlier “perfect” that’s all Scheele had to do, yet his sled didn’t want to play nice. Everyone knows those Scheuring sleds are top notch no wrong could be done, oh we thought. Opening lap #44 sled went down on a cylinder throwing that alluded curve ball. Anson would finish 14th maximizing his points as much as possible, gaining points over Dillon still holding the red plate. Adam Ashline took third place, that’s another podium for the Elite Motosports team in 2025. Talk about nail biter weekend in Pro-Lite.
Pro class wasn’t as crazy but riders still wanted to prove themselves to the Canadian crowed, capitalizing on points before heading to the Empire State marking the half way point. Judnick Motorsports Emil Harr did what “Moose” does best dropped the hammer and dominated the night taking gold repeating on Sunday taking all three wins and the overall with max points extending the points gap also taking the points lead from Elias Ishoel who sustained a thumb injury at his teams test track. We hope we see him back on the sled at New York. Talking with the #200 sounds like two weeks isn’t enough time to heal with pins in his hand, we are hopeful though.
Kyllo Racing Arctic Cat’s Jake Yurk put on a clinic while showing Arctic cat is still capable on a big demanding track #bleedgreen great momentum for the team taking second overall in the triple crown format. Sunday wasn’t so nice to Yurk, not the best hole shots, getting tangled with Kamm in triple crown #2 getting close to making a move on third. These two don’t have a friendship now if there was one before the weekend. #727 finished 10th not the way they wanted to finish the weekend with all that said its time to reset and get ready for the weekend where he made history for Arctic Cat getting back to back second’s in New York. Welcome back Francis Pelletier also welcome back to the podium in thirda, a nagging injury sidelining him from competition at the opening weekend of Snocross in Ironwood. This weekend we are happy to see the #220 back on the track, the fans seemed very thrilled to see #200 back, we looking forward to seeing “Frank” back for the rest of the season. Warnert Racing young gun Jordan Lebel turned it on taking two of the three triple crown wins placing him in second overall behind Harr, the crowd lit up when Jordan took those two wins. KC Motorsport’s Oskar Norum is no stranger to the podium taking third Sunday great momentum for the team & Norum.
Pro-women class we saw past champion Megan Brodeur on the podium but for a different reason this time, awarding Malene Cottew the “Megan Brodeur Trophy”, a trophy that will be handed out every year at Valcourt to the overall Pro-women winner. Cottew had a perfect weekend dominating each night taking gold a repeat of last year. Second & third would see no change from Saturday to Sunday, Inanna Hauger would take second, the injured Cerissa Blessum taking third.
Being the USSR Pro Star weekend we will shed some light on these guys too. Pro Champ 440 is being led by Blaine Stephenson on the Wahl Brothers Racing Polaris, having a great weekend winning Saturday putting more points over second with over 100 point gap, still lots of racing to go but Blaine is looking to clinch the championship early. Gunnar Sterne a fan favorite held off Blaine but couldn’t make the win stick Saturday. Sunday was a little of a shake up for the covenant Valcourt Championship, which is a one off separate championship to win the #102 sled blew a belt in the second heat giving the win to Reed Klinger, lining up Stephenson had to get out front early making some changes to better his chances in the final, coming up through the pack #102 had lots of work to do to capture the win, working his way up to second Gunnar ran away early taking the championship.
We want to give a huge shoutout to West Coast Customs Pro-Lite rider Brandon Nelson, hoping for a speedy recovery after hearing it was a femur break. Such a pleasure seeing you put on a clinic since moving up to the Pro-Lite ranks.
Another applaud to Snocross & Valcourt for putting on a great event. Intense racing, huge track & amazing venue. See you guys in 2026!
